Institutt for elkraftteknikk er et ledende undervisnings- og forskningsmiljø innen elektrisk energiteknikk, energibruk og energiplanlegging. Instituttet er ett av seks institutter ved Fakultet for informasjonsteknologi, matematikk og elektroteknikk

Avdelingen arbeider med oppgaver knyttet til elkrafttekniske formål, med prøving og utvikling av elektroteknisk utstyr i samarbeid med institutt for elkraftteknikk ved NTNU.
